Mighty Pirate

Hoist the sails!
I remember clearly when the young and intrepid pirate Guybrush Treepwood bursts into the Summ Bar on Melee Island and boldly proclaims in front of the three pirate chieftains, "I want to be a firem..." I mean.... "I want to be a pirate!" That iconic moment in video game history was etched in my memory forever.
Since then, Monkey Island has become one of the most beloved and cherished video games of all time. As a die-hard fan of the series, I have always wanted to step into the shoes of Guybrush Treepwood and pay homage to this masterpiece.
Finally, in 2016, I started sketching my idea of a self-portrait as Guybrush Treepwood himself. But creating an illustration like this takes time, and it wasn't until almost seven years later that I finally finished it. However, the end result was infinitely better than it would have been if I had finished it then.
My illustration contains details from the first three games of the series, including the rubber chicken with pulley in the middle, the BigWhoop treasure, and Murray, the demonic skull. Each element was carefully selected to capture the essence of the series and for fans like me to appreciate and enjoy every detail.

Recuerdo claramente cuando el joven e intrépido pirata Guybrush Treepwood irrumpe en el Summ Bar de Melee Island y proclama con valentía frente a los tres jefes piratas: "Quiero ser bomb..." digo... "¡Quiero ser pirata!" Ese momento icónico en la historia de los videojuegos quedó grabado en mi memoria para siempre.
Desde entonces, Monkey Island se ha convertido en uno de los videojuegos más queridos y apreciados de todos los tiempos. Como fanático acérrimo de la serie, siempre he querido ponerme en la piel de Guybrush Treepwood y rendir homenaje a esta magna obra.
Finalmente, en 2016, comencé a esbozar mi idea de un autoretrato como el propio Guybrush Treepwood. Pero la creación de una una ilustración como esta lleva tiempo, y no fue hasta casi siete años después que finalmente la terminé. Sin embargo, el resultado final fue infinitamente mejor de lo que hubiera sido si la hubiera terminado entonces.
Mi ilustración contiene detalles de las tres primeras entregas de la serie, incluyendo el pollo de goma con polea en medio, el tesoro del BigWhoop y Murray, la calavera demoníaca. Cada elemento se seleccionó cuidadosamente para capturar la esencia de la serie y para que los fans como yo puedan apreciar y disfrutar de cada detalle.
