Snake Plissken

Snake Plissken. The iconic antihero brought to life by Kurt Russell in two of John Carpenter's cult classics: Escape from New York and Escape from L.A.. I've always been captivated by this character and had long wanted to pay tribute to him through illustration. In fact, I originally sketched this piece back in 2007, intending to finish it in acrylic and airbrush on paper. However, like many creative projects, it ended up tucked away in a drawer, waiting for the right moment.
That moment finally arrived this week. I revisited the drawing, fully immersing myself in the intricate details of the leather and chrome textures, determined to complete it once and for all.

The wait has been long, but it was worth every minute. As they said in the movies, 'Plissken the Serpent... I thought you were dead.' But as it turns out, he's very much alive.

Snake Plissken. El icónico antihéroe interpretado por Kurt Russell en dos de los clásicos de culto de John Carpenter: Escape from New York y Escape from L.A.. Siempre me ha cautivado este personaje y desde hace mucho tiempo deseaba rendirle homenaje a través de una ilustración. De hecho, originalmente hice este boceto en 2007, con la intención de terminarlo en acrílico y aerógrafo sobre papel. Sin embargo, como muchos proyectos creativos, terminó guardado en un cajón, esperando el momento adecuado.

Ese momento finalmente llegó esta semana. Retomé el dibujo, sumergiéndome por completo en los intrincados detalles de las texturas de cuero y cromados, decidido a terminarlo de una vez por todas.

La espera ha sido larga, pero ha valido la pena cada minuto. Como decían en las películas, 'Plissken el Serpiente... pensaba que estabas muerto'. Pero resulta que estaba muy vivo...
