RetroPixel 2023

Illustration made for the poster of the RetroPixel 2023 event, a retrocomputing and videogames fair held in Málaga in the hall of the Faculty of Law of the University of Málaga on April 22 and 23, 2023. This fair commemorated the 30th anniversary of the release of the iconic video game DOOM and the 40th anniversary of the MSX personal computer. The event's poster was illustrated especially for the occasion, showing a tribute to the apocalyptic spirit of DOOM and the retro world in general. Originally, the illustration featured the Doomguy character holding a ZXSpectrum 48k. However, since the event was also celebrating the anniversary of the MSX, I changed the computer to pay homage to it as well.
The event was organized by the Asociación Lúdico Técnica de Aficionados a la Informática Retro (ALTAIR), who are known for their popular podcast Retro Entre Amigos. RetroPixel is a family-oriented and completely free cultural and solidarity activity that offers a wide variety of activities for all attendees, from retro gaming competitions to talks by video game industry experts and workshops for children.

Esta feria conmemoró los 30 años del lanzamiento del icónico videojuego DOOM y los 40 años de la computadora personal MSX. El cartel del evento fue ilustrado especialmente para la ocasión, mostrando un homenaje al espíritu apocalíptico de DOOM y al mundo retro en general. Originalmente, la ilustración presentaba al personaje de Doomguy sosteniendo un ZXSpectrum 48k. Sin embargo, dado que el evento también celebraba el aniversario del MSX, cambié el ordenador para rendirle también homenaje.
El evento fue organizado por la Asociación Lúdico Técnica de Aficionados a la Informática Retro (ALTAIR), quienes son conocidos por su popular podcast Retro Entre Amigos. RetroPixel es una actividad cultural y solidaria orientada para toda la familia y completamente gratuita que ofrece una amplia variedad de actividades para todos los asistentes, desde competiciones de juegos retro hasta charlas de expertos en la industria de los videojuegos y talleres para niños.
